Woodworkshop

In our well-equipped wood workshop 4-5 people are working, although there is space for 8. We aim to sculpt objects out of wood which has been found in nature with the main emphasis on the artistic - creative - therapeutic aspect of working with wood. We search for the form sleeping hidden in a piece of irregular fire-wood, log or stump, to achieve a sculpture or bedside lamp-bases or candle-holders. This then becomes serial work, with every piece being individually very different from each other. Although we have a lot of conventional machinery, we use mainly hand tools: chopper, carving chisels, rasps, files and hand sanding. This approach we find is very engaging and results in real job satisfaction by the time our products reach the shops and customer.
