Biodynamic Introductory Course

Since 1995 an introductory course in Biodynamic agriculture has been offered from autumn to spring. It is co-hosted by Camphill Community Clanabogan (Omagh, Co. Tyrone), Camphill Community Mourne Grange (Killkeel, Co. Down), Camphill Community Glencraig (Holywood, Co. Down) and Camphill Community Ballybay (Ballybay Co. Monaghan) with some sessions taking place in each community.

The course is aimed at people who are practically involved in land work but others are welcome if interested.

The intention is to give a basic grounding to people interested in wholesome farming and gardening following the indications of Rudolf Steiner. No prior experience is necessary but some familiarity with Anthroposophy is helpful.

The topics covered include:

The History of Agriculture

Soil

The Plant

The Animal

The Biodynamic Preparations

Nutrition

The Farm Organism

Each day contains a lecture on the main topic, artistic activity, practical aspects and time for discussion.

The course consists of one Saturday per month for a total of 7 times lasting from 10.30am - 5.00pm approximately.

A light lunch is provided. It is best if participants commit themselves to the full course and attend every session as far as possible but exceptions can be made.

Dates and a full programme will be sent to interested people.
