Since the original purchase of the property at Clanabogan considerable thought has been given to the development of the community in relation to the landscape and environment. As development occurred buildings have been placed mindful of their functions and their social and visual impact. The land which was largely unpopulated farmland now has six purpose built houses interlinked with pathways and access roads.

As a biodynamic holding emphasis has been given to create a balance between the agricultural land and the area of natural habitat. The estate / farm is currently joining the countryside management scheme run by the Department of Agriculture to encourage good farming practice with care and protection of the countryside.

New areas of woodland have been planted and existing areas have been reinitiated all with native species. The practice of biodynamic agriculture has encouraged the bio-diversity of the native flora and fauna. The estate supports a wide population of native birds and mammals.

Access to areas of the estate particularly the area adjacent to the Owenreagh River has been made possible by the construction of a path, approximately one mile long, which follows the periphery of the estate. This path passes through much of the area designated by the Ulster Wildlife Trust as a nature reserve.
